Carlos Araújo

 

Carlos Alberto de Araujo Filho (Sao Paulo SP 1950). Painter, draftsman, lithographer. Self-study begins in 1963 with the panel Allegory to Carnival. Between 1971 and 1975 is studying engineering at Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo. In 1973 he was invited to participate in the exhibition Images of Brazil, in Brussels. The following year, makes the first solo exhibition at MASP, where they engaged in other exhibitions. Besides painting, works other techniques such as drawing and lithography. Throw in Paris in 1989, the book of lithographs Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In his work we can observe elements of Renaissance painting. Throughout his career, held several solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. In 1980, the panel Annunciation of his own, is sent by the Brazilian government to Pope John Paul II. In 1984, he is awarded the Paulista Association of Art Critics – APCA.
